Here's the deal, ladies and gentlemen:  I wrote this for the take_the_knot comment fic fest and was going to post it anonymously over there.  But then it got a bit long and I got a little invested, then posting it anonymously and broken into comment boxes started to feel cumbersome in my head, and here you have it.  Call it my last gasping hurrah of 2011, since most of the thing was written then.  In the spirit of the comment fic fest, feel free to comment anonymously.  And we're off!
